Iris Imaging only provides services to businesses, does not do consumer photography, and reserves the right to decline any project without comment. Iris Imaging started as a business to provide specialized photographic services to ophthalmologists in Northern Ohio. In March of 1992 Iris Imaging was registered as the trade name for medical photographer Michael L. McCray. He relocated to Elyria, Ohio in 1993. In 1998 website construction was added to Iris Imaging services and discontinued in 2020.

Iris Imaging’s areas of expertise are photojournalism, medical, architectural, photo-illustration, macro, environmental portraits, aerial photography (FAA Part 107 UAS Remote Pilot License), and social issues. While website construction is no longer done by Iris Imaging, most of our work is done for presentation on the internet or digital media.

Photojournalism projects predate Iris Imaging, and many have been collaborative and multi-dimensional in scope, receiving a wide range of support from the medical, political (local, regional and national), photographic, and other communities. I am humbled and indebted to the medical communities’ support here and overseas. Most of them shot over several years. Some of the subjects were conflicts, homelessness, aging, and nature.

My current project is called Snapshots of Lorain County. The goal is to promote the county and is organized by political subdivisions. There is also a section on vital resources in Lorain County.
