The Nord Center was founded in 1947 to provide psychiatric services to the people of Lorain County. It was named in 1970 in honor of Walter G. Today The Nord Center is a non-profit community mental health center offering prevention, treatment and advocacy serving approximately 7,500 people per year. Core services are adult behavioral health, child and adolescent behavioral health, sexual assault services, residential services and crisis services.
